I did the original storyboard for this animation back in college for a 3D animation class I was taking as an elective. I began to model the all of the characters in 3D Studio Max and was 75% done and about to animate the models and my hard drive crashed. This set me back so much that I had to drop the class.
I kept the story board and after graduation I wanted to at least produce something out of that story. I just purchased Flash 4, and felt that this would be a good pilot project.
I drew all of the elements from the story board in black and white, scanned them in and colored them inside Flash. I then when about and did the animation.
This would be relatively easy to animate now, but this was very complicated with Flash 4′s limited tools. I just got the CS3 upgrade and found a nice QuickTime export function which now allows me to post this to YouTube.
